We have just migrated to an all new billing system, ClientExec. After numerous problems with WHMCS not being able to handle our volume, we made the decision to move to a more stable billing platform. Some of the problems that we were encountering with WHMCS includes, but is not limited to, non-generating invoices, applying credits to client’s accounts, and not accepting new orders.

The migration to the new billing system took quite a bit of work and a lot of trial and error. We tried most of the systems that are available, and finally decided ClientExec was a perfect solution.

You should not have any problems logging in with your WHMCS login details, but if for some reason you do, please send an email to sales@servercomplete.com from the email address on file.

We ask that everyone please login at their convenience to inspect their personal details to make sure everything is correct.

If you notice any problems with your billing or invoicing, please bring it to our attention as soon as possible.

We are still remaining with Kayako eSupport for our helpdesk, so your existing tickets will remain available for future reference. Your Kayako login details would be the same as your ClientExec details.

We have made a couple of improvements over the past couple of days that everyone should be aware of.

The HyperVM URL

First on our agenda is the new HyperVM URL, which will make it easier on everyone to access their HyperVM control panel.

We have installed a proper SSL certificate on the secure URL, however, it may still error in Firefox 3. This is a new phishing protection system built into Firefox 3, and it rejects many of the most common SSL certificate types. If you receive an alert of an invalid certificate, please permanently accept the error.

All New Hosted DNS Services

We have decided to take advantage of a rather unknown feature of HyperVM and that is the DNS cluster hosting services. If for some reason you would prefer to not run your own nameservers on your VPS, you are more than welcome to take advantage of this feature.

Upon logging into your HyperVM control panel, under the “Help” section you will see a new button labled “DNS”. Upon opening the new DNS interface you will be able to setup and manage DNS zones that are hosted on our nameservers. This will in no way affect the DNS configurations inside of individual VPSs. This is only a value added service that we are offering to those of you who would prefer to not run your own nameservers or would like the redundancy that our DNS cluster has to offer.

If you plan to use our DNS services, you will need to login to HyperVM and create the DNS zone for the domain. Once the DNS zone has been created, you will need to update the nameservers at your domain registrar to point to the following:

vdns1.nodesdirect.com [Dallas, TX]
vdns2.nodesdirect.com [London, UK]

We are running a fully redundant DNS cluster with nameservers in two separate locations. This will help ensure that your domains will still resolve if one DNS server is unresponsive.

ICANN (The big cheese of domain names if you will) approved customized top level domain names!

“ICANN, the organization that oversees internet addresses, will soon allow anyone to apply for his very own generic top-level domain (gTLD). In other words, you’ll soon have the power to put almost anything at the end of your url, eschewing existing top-level domains such as “.com” or “.edu.”

“This is a historic resolution,” said ICANN chairman Peter Dungate Thrush, during a conference call with reporters, just after the organization’s annual meeting in Paris. “You should see this as being as significant as Margaret Thatcher’s decision to liberalize the telecoms market in the UK. This is a decision to fully liberalize the TLD space.”

ICANN estimates it will begin taking applications in April or May of next year. The fee for each application will be “in the low six figures in American dollars,” and the first customized gTLDs will likely arrive in the fourth quarter of 2009.”

Well BurstNET has struck again! I submitted a simple upgrade request for RAM for one of our customers still in the BurstNET facility and here we are, almost 7 days later, without the additional RAM.

After pestering the live AIM support agent for BurstNET I found out that the sales, billing, and order processing departments decided to take a nice long weekend, well more like the entire week off.

According to the AIM rep, no new orders have been processed nor have any sales or billing tickets. This really irritated me, but there is not much I can do except call or email them The prices at BurstNET are unbelievable, but it goes without saying, you get what you pay for!

Now, for those of you reading, no worries! We no longer are working with new servers from BurstNET and are phasing all existing servers out as people upgrade. All new signups and major upgrades are getting shiny new hardware out of Dallas

After numerous comments from people in regards to our VPS plan structure, I finally bit the bullet and did a complete makeover of them!

All VPS plans include more disk space, RAM, premium bandwidth, and are cheaper! That’s right folks, better plans for less money! Now, you may be asking yourself if I have lost my mind or something.
